There are three main ways to assess the accuracy of a test like this: 1. False Negative Rate (Specificity); 2. False Positive Rate (Sensitivity); and 3. Positive Predictive Power (PPV). At LBL, these are usually  regarding accuracy.

In addition, because we use multiple blood samples from the patient, we also include error bars. These error bars indicate the 95% Confidence Interval. This means that we are 95% confident that the real average of the multiple samples falls within the error bars.

If the error bars are small, it means the multiple samples are very close to each other. If the multiple samples are not close to each other, then the error bars will be wider. Either way, the Confidence Interval is an important statistic to let you know how trustworthy the results are. And it will be different for every test.
